Even in this interview, not one word from David Kerr and the only sound bites are from Salmond.

I think you are mistaking me for an SNP supporter!

It is trueto a greater or lesser extent of all parties and is probably indicative of the short attention span culture we now live in.

It's just an observation on the North East by election.

I have heard from some of the other candidates but nothing from David Kerr. Loads of nationalist supporters foaming at the mouth commenting on news articles featuring the other candidates. But nothing from David Kerr.

Why do you think that is?

I can sense the SNP have suddenly become a little more confident. I believe there is now a realistic chance of an SNP win.

I believe the polling by the SNP in the constituency is quite encouraging.
A lot of hard work in the last 2 weeks could see it paying off with a shock result.

The Labour Party retaining the constituency which Michael Martin had to retire from in such corruptly wealthy disgrace would be bad. On the other hand, the Opus Dei candidate winning would also be bad. So I'm hoping that the winning candidate, whoever that happens to be, gets abducted by Aliens from Outer Space, just as the Returning Officer is announcing the result.

I confidently predict that too much will be read into the result of a byelection with specific circumstances to it.

It would appear (allegedly) that the (alleged) electoral fraud at Glenrothes is alive and well in Glasgow North East
Various posts in various blogs over the past few days are suggesting a surprisingly high volume (1,200) of postal votes being registered in the last month and the register itself increasing by around 4,000 votes.

A victory for interest in democracy or low tricks of the worst kind?

The last three posts appear to me to have so much truth in them,  and confirm a growing feeling that I've had for some time........I really do wish the folks had an honest constituency candidate who was prepared to work for THEM first and foremost.

But let's face it.  Whoever wins, will barely be getting his/her feet under the table before there is a general election.  It begs the question, we've waited this long, why not just wait another 6  - 7 months until a GE?

Total waste of time and money, which in a recession, is unforgivable.

Good point RH.  I suppose it's either a matter of "form" or bread and circuses to placate the journalists and the media.  Given the choices they've been offered I'm sure the "masses" don't give a tinkers one way or the other.

Frankly I think it's utterly obscene that the people of this constituency have not had parliamentary representation for so many months; naturally I think it would be even more obscene to prolong the period further.

I'd be inclined to agree.

Why is this though? Why isn't anybody taking it on?
