allow democracy to take place (elections).
protect those rebuilding infrastructure.
training the police/army.
targetting terrosit cells.
encoraging diplomacy between rival faction amongst iraqi\'s.
allowing trial of maddas to go ahead.

the list goes on.

let me ask you what would you do if a middle east country invaded your country.and where dropping bombs on the local schools.what would you do,same thing people done during the world wars no doubt.just like the fighters are doing

when did we start bombing schools on purpose? i answered your question about peacekeeping and you spout forth rubbish like that. awway.

It may well be true that Iran's belligerence poses a threat to the State of Israel, but the question becomes whether American and Euorpean young men should have to give up their lives for the State of Israel. Before you condemn me out of hand as anti-semitic, you should know that there has been a sizable body of Israeli public opinion about the policies of linking the fate of Israel to America and the belligerent policies of Ari Sharon. Most of that discussion revolves around the point that the invasion of Iraq was launched out of concern for the safety of Israel and it has done nothing but increase world public opinion in favor of Iraq and against America. Israel has also squandered a great deal of the world wide good will they enjoyed because of the horrors and depradations they suffered at the hands of the German National Socialist regime, by their treatment of their Palistinian citizens. Even thoughtful Israeli's declare it to be a disgrace.
Consider as well that India which is also a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty has just been told by Mr. Bush they are not only free to pursue nuclear research for peaceful purposes, but for military purposes as well. Israel is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty but is widely known and has indirectly acknowledged they have nuclear weapons as well. Korea goes around sticking its finger in Mr. Bush's eye every chance it gets, but with them we "negotiate". Pakistan has generally opened the public market in nuclear weapons technology to anyone who wants to buy.
So if your concern is the security of Israel, I suggest you enlist in the Israeli Army; I am sure they would be glad to have you me bhoy!
