Try looking at Wickapedia, the on line encyclopedia: failing that pick up any one of a number of excellent books on the reconstruction era. You see the government reconstruction agencies were required to file reports on land and property that was forfieted by the rebel leaders. I know people like you are not interested in facts, pesky little things. If you had ever graduated from high school you would have known a little about the Lincoln-Douglas debates as well; I guess you didn't. Small loss to the world.
But since the merry month of April approaches you might like to look at the Declaration of Arbroath, April 6, 1320, see and what Scots generally have thought about freedom. You sound like a pure unvarnished Englishman to me.

aahh, unfortunatley you will never even be able to convince him that the ladies of chicago, found that emaciated ill clothed, disease afflicted confederate prisoners of war, were more preferable company, because of the upbrings they recieved, to be curteous, polite and thoughtful, to all, but, a great degree respect to woman.

see, it wasnt babe ruth, or any of that that kept their baseball team perinnial losers. no, it was what the citizens of the north ward did to those poor black children that were bused into their district.
now, i'm all talked out. i have fine cuttin horses, and compatriots, avowed and true. where the hell are the damn cows!!!!!!!!!
