aye, not good. i remeber the indignity of celtic going through many managers in the 90's, i would hate to see that at ibrox but his time is up. if we don't beat the soapdodgers at paranoiadise on wed he must be 'resigned'.
i then think ranieri or the laudrup brothers. _________________ **sig. edited by admin |

I dont see Tim causing many problems. After all it came about simply because the most popular boys name in Ieland was Timothy. The Irish version of the word Tadh (or teague or taig) is considered offensive in the North of Ireland and is often used as a derogatory term but most "tims" I know would not be offended by the word and in fact use it themselves.
Hun might be offensive but the minority of Rangers fans who support the racist BNP deserve it. |

As a side note - plenty of Celtic fans I know here (NI) actually don't mind 'taig' . They see it as a sort of joke-like term. It's the F word that really offends - which I can understand. _________________ "Every single person on this planet is unique. Just like everyone else..." - Random Guy in Edinburgh Pub

Soapdodgers? Surely Rangers are a Glasgow team too?
Are you serious about Ranieri and Hitzfield? Why would they want a job like that? An ever decreasing player bill, fans who boo their own players, no thanks.
It's goofd to see that Murray has only changed his assertion that for every £5 Celtic put on the table he would out down £10. This years accounts show that he has changed it to £2.50 for every £5 Celtic spend on players (Rangers £18 million, Celtic £33million on players). The signs are that will still come down, not a good climate for an ambitious manager. |

£18 million is still a hell of a lot of money for player's wages in this league - to be sitting 4th just now is surely unacceptable.
To put it into perspective - killie's total player wage bill this season (including all youths) is £1.05 million, and we're just 1 place behind them! _________________ "Every single person on this planet is unique. Just like everyone else..." - Random Guy in Edinburgh Pub

No, it became a popular term of address for Irish immigrants in Great Britain due to the prominence of the name Timothy. At a later date, when Patrick became the most popular name, Paddy took over. Scots working in England were often called Jocks and then due to the massive social impact of Billy Connolly and Russ Abbott in the 80's, Jimmy became the more common inoffensive general term for a scotsman.
All of these terms are subjective. It depends on how the user is meaning them and how the subject of the name calling receives it. |

Many years ago the Irish Catholics were called 'Micks'or 'Mickeys'
Kids joke from those days
What do you call a mouse that lives in near a door -- a door mouse-Right
What do you call a mouse that lives in a field -- a field mouse-Right
What do you call a mouse that lives in a church - a church mouse-Right
What do you call a mouse that lives in a chapel - a chapel mouse-Wrong
Its called a Mickey Mouse.
I think the Irish Guards have still got the nickname 'the micks'
The name 'teague' or 'taig' was used by soldiers from England in the 1600s
The Fenians were the dynamiters in England, in America they tried to invade Canada
Clan-na Gael and all that |
