Parkie,
I saw the parkhead rfb at the current exhibition on sectarianism in Glasgow at the GOMA. There is a split screne with one half being the Parkhead rfb and the other half being the Black Skull band.
Were you in the film? |

It was an alright exhibition overall, not geat though. I think that the split screen films were good. What struck me was the similarity in the bands, both military style uniforms, both had flags with the red hand of ulster on it, both had very serious faces on when playing.
One thing I did notice, although I dont know the significance of it, was that the Black Skull Orange band consisted entirely of fat blokes with very short hair! You lot had the odd fat guy but were mainly skinnier, and younger than the black skulls.
The rest of the exhibition was quite flimsy I thought and I left not quite knowing what it was saying other than "we have some religious bigotry in Glasgow". The pictures of the old firm players signing was good to see from a memory-jogging point of view, but it wasn't a particularly good display for a museum of Modern Art. |

i think what the author was going for was just to portray things as they are and let the viewer make up their own minds..which in a way was his whole point that the same events can be viewed differently depending on your family, personal experiences etc etc.
I also think the black skull are very "last night of the proms" like in their style. musically they are good but i dont like that style and obviously i dont like what they stand for
the guy who done that project has been by far the most honest and upfront person our band has ever dealt with and he didnt try and of the usual media tricks we are used to.
ps am also not one of the fat guys _________________ "our revenge will be the laughter of our children" bobby sands MP

the point being that they mad bigots and they both just mirror each others neddish views.
i'm astonished that displaying such things in an internationally acclaimed gallery is a good idea. i would be embaressed if there and a tourist asked me what this was about, how do you explain these thugs and bigots with their stupid views in a positive light.
