I'm trying to get my head round the dative case - is it only used after prepositions (anns an fheur, leis a' bhalach etc), or are there any other, em.. cases in which it's used. I read something the other day which seemed to imply there were more uses.

I have my anorak on, with the hood up.. Very Happy

AFAIK, it's only used wrt prepositions and is often referred to as the prepositional rather than dative case. Maybe there were other historical uses that aren't in modern usage.
