From the BBC Scotland website -
More money is to be made available for a government renewable energy scheme which gives grants to homeowners.
The Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative helps cut high fuel bills by funding the installation of systems such as solar or wind power.
Nationalists criticised the Scottish Executive for allowing the cash for this financial year to run out.
But the executive said demand had outstripped funds. It said an extra £2.2m would be available from January.
Under the scheme, homeowners could qualify for grants worth up to 30% of the cost of installing a renewable technology system, up to a maximum of £4,000.
Scottish National Party MSP Richard Lochhead had warned that fuel poverty would increase as a result of the funding gap.
Companies that installed systems such as solar panel heating were also losing out, he said.
Good news - lets hope funding for these sorts of initiatives can continue.
