Are you going on holiday? October is still warm with good whether for sun and sea bathing.
Sardinia have always fought for freedom but always in the verge of history.
Follow ...... |
Fàilte is 'welcome' in Scots Gaelic... although Scots and Irish Gaelic are very similar and this word is the same in both.
I'm actually going to Cagliari for a conference. I'm hoping to spend an extra couple of days there as well though. I'm glad I'm not going during the summer, I think it would be far too hot for me. The temperature in October should be just perfect
I wish Sardinia all the best in its struggle

Consider that the weather is always windy and dry so .... it's hot but in a shady place is lovely even in August.
Two days are really too few.
One day south-westward
You can feel yourself at home staying at Forte Village (you know Sir Charles Forte ... Do you? )
http://www.fortevillageresort.com...ndex.php?page=index&lingua=EN
One more day eastward to Villasimius.
Dishes: Malloredus a sa Campidanesa, Culurjonis (or Culurgionis),
Wine: Vermentino, Nuragus (white), Monica, Cannonau (red/black).
Beer: Ichnusa (As much as possible).
Dessert/Sweet: Seadas
Alcoholic Beverage: Mirto (red). Chiled and ..... small quantity!!
I'm here for further information. _________________ All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there!!

| They look fantastic Antoni! I'll definitely try and make time to see a some of the island outside Cagliari. You're right, two days will never be enough. I'll just need to go back for a longer period at some point! |

Very pretty kitty! I do understand about being 'owned' by your cat! Right now I have 4 dogs and no cats, although, I am sure if I did have one, it would be the boss over us all! LOL _________________ I don't have hobbies; hobbies cost money. Interests are quite free.

I did watch the Games and saw the scenery, it looks very pretty there.
Aren't those loos funny? LOL |
I live in the countryside 15miles far from the city centre. In Turin city and suburbs there where skating, hockey , short track, curling.
Although I'm keen on skating (years ago ) and skiing, traffic jam and a "no good reason" made me decide not to go to any event.
Q: Aren't those loos funny?
A: Not at all in case of need. _________________ All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there!!

I've misunderstood your avatar. I thought it was a cat but now .... it seems to be a dog.
Dog: They feed me, love me and take care of me: they must be gods!
Cat: They feed me, love me and take care of me: I must be a god!
Cats are Independent and dogs Dependent.
In this web-site better being Independent.

Your grasp of English is excellent Antoni - sorry if that sounds patronising.
I only wish I was bi-lingual. _________________ "Every single person on this planet is unique. Just like everyone else..." - Random Guy in Edinburgh Pub

I only wish I was bi-lingual. |
My English teacher (Victoria), from Newcastle said the same (more or less).
Well .... I got the FCC (First Certificate of Cambrige) years ago.
But since then .... I haven't had the chance of making practice and I think is still quite rusty .... is it?
For "bi-lingual", .... u mean .... Scots/Sardinian??
Consider that Sardinian Language is a nightmare for italians .... like scots language for me.
Very soon, Sardinian Language will be a subject in the forum "Global Politics"; tread "Knowing Sardinia".
Don't worry about it .... Just few lines.
Have a Good night friend/s ... see u soon ... _________________ All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there!! |

Antonia, my avatar is a cat. It's a very popular cartoon character in the US. I put that one on there because my grandson likes it!
And your English is very good, it puts me to shame that I didn't spend more time on my languages while in school.
I have enough French to read/understand some of what I see but not really to converse, and my Spanish does help understand some Italian but not enough of either to do me much good. Shame on me! _________________ I don't have hobbies; hobbies cost money. Interests are quite free.

1) Antoni = Sardinian/Catalan version of Antonio.
Example: Antoni Gaudì - Catalan Architect.
http://images.google.com/images?q...p;as_qdr=all&start=0&sa=N
2) Avatar: I was puzzled looking at the nose. It seemed to me it was a dog's nose. Solved Anyway.
3) Not so good ..... Formal English .... What I learnt at scool (English courses).
Prepositions are very difficult and make me crazy sometimes.
4)
Esp: Si comprendes y hablas Castillano (Spanish), no hay ninguna dificultad a comprender y hablar Italiano.
Ita: Se capisci/(comprendi) e parli Castigliano, non c'é nessuna difficoltà a capire/(comprendere) l'Italiano.
G.B.) If you understand and speak Castillano (Spanish), there is no difficulty to understand and speak Italian.
As u can see Castillano and Italian are very similar and ....
.... if at first u don't succeed, try, try, try again.
What's the cartoon name?
Just for searching something in the net.
Tanks and bye ..... _________________ All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there!! |

Bye- Antonio. |
Hi again Antoni. Yeah I went there for my conference and I had a really good time I was staying in a hotel in the old town and the area was really nice. I was in the conference most of the time during the day, but I got to see a bit of the city - especially the old town.
We eat out each night and the food was fantastic! I was surprised to see horse on the menu in a lot of places. |

Hi,
So, you didn’t visit the south coast out Cagliari? What a pity.
The ancient name of Cagliari(IT) was Caralis(Sardinian/Fenician?), then Romans changed it in (Calaris), Spanish added a “L” and changed the pronunciation, so, in Italian, the name became Cagliari. Nowdays Sardinians call it Casteddu = Castle because to the old city-centre in ancien time was a Castle.
What a mess.
I hope the city was clean. In the past there were problems.
Did you visit the Archaeological Museum (Rigth in the City Centre)? We are restoring all our ancient past.
Horse meat is normal to find also at the Butcher in small quantities but are not bred for this purpose.
Generally they are at the end of their working life or killed because of bad accidents and injuries.
What happens in Scotland in the same situation?
See you. _________________ All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there!! |
