Considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for any moderator to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted before or during the post. Please remember that we do not necessarily monitor the contents of posted messages and we are not responsible for any messages posted. 'Our Scotland' do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and is not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of their author, not necessarily the views of the 'Our Scotland' Forum.

'Our Scotland' encourages open debate on important and controversial issues, and as such moderators will only edit or delete posts in extreme circumstances. We appreciate that some posts will contain strong opinions, and that robust language will be used to defend them, and we advise all users to bear that in mind.

However, please be aware that the Our Scotland community is a diverse one, and as a result posters should take care in their choice of words not to cause offence. Posts containing racist, sectarian, sexist and homophobic abuse will not be tolerated and all complaints will be investigated. Posters have a responsibility to themselves to show respect to other Forum users in their contributions.

In the spirit of free speech, moderators will show sufficient leniency to allow posters to resolve any matters that arise on their own. However, persistent abuse of this leniency or a refusal to settle any issue in a mature and respectful way will result in action being taken.

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact the Admin team or any moderator immediately by pm (private message) or email. They have the ability to disable posting of messages by certain users and will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if it is determined that this is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that any moderator may not be able to this immediately.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the 'Our Scotland' Forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by the 'Our Scotland' Forum.

Although the 'Our Scotland' Forum does not and cannot review the messages posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, any moderator at the 'Our Scotland' Forum reserve the right to delete any message or disable the posting of messages by any user for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the 'Our Scotland' Forum and all Moderators.

Please note that posts must only be in English, Gaidhlig or Scots. Using any other language is innappropriate as we are unable to review the content or validity of the message posted.

Any moderator on the 'Our Scotland' Forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

Please note that chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on the 'Our Scotland' Forum.

Forum Etiquette:

- Constrain the use of avatar images to small-sized ones (no larger than 100 pixels high by 100 pixels wide)

- Constrain the use of signature images to small-sized ones (no larger than 125 pixels high or 600 pixels wide)

- Do not use special characters to fancy-up any topic titles

- DO NOT post all-uppercase text or topic titles

- Do not post images larger than 640 pixels wide or 480 pixels high. Preferably, include them as link, not as images.

Failure to adhere to the above Forum Rules will result in your posting privileges being taken away temporarily or permanently. Repetetive abuse will result in a ban.
