shocking - only in Scotland would we allow our councils to get away with this sort of stuff.
in Kilmarnock the Kay Park which contains the Burns Monument has been neglected for years. Given to the people of Kilmarnock, the council has totally squandered it. It was burnt down last year and the council have said they won't repair it as it will cost too much.
They don't see it as a wealth creating asset- something that will bring tourism into the town if exploited properly. You can find out more about the burns monument at: www.barredbard.org.uk

| I'm sure there was a petition to Parliament about this a few months back. There definately does need to be new legislation to protect these assets. |
