Looks like he'll be going to Seltic in January with a fee of at least 1/4 million. I think this is a really good move for Hibs. I don't really rate him that highly and he's pretty much our top earner. I think we'll be able to pick up someone just as good for less money.
I know the Celtic defence is pretty weak at the moment and 250k isn't much for Celtic, but what do the Celtic fans here think? Will he do anything for the team at all?

Any random centre half from anywhere would be a help to Celtic right now
Serously though he is a very good player and I think he will be a good signing for Celtic. For his age he has a lot of experience and I think he might get straight into the first team.
I do feel sorry for Hibs though and I hope that they can hold on to him until the summer. This Hibs team will break up soon and it would be good if they could achieve something together before that happens. |

I would think he would go straight into the celtic team at the moment. I'd expect someone else to be brought in over the summer and for him to be relegated to a squad player.
I wouldn't worry about hibs. Like I said, I really don't rate him that highly and I'm sure we'll be able to get someone in who's at least as good on his wages. Brown, Thompson, O'Conner are all on long term deals along with Whittaker and Murphy, so I think we'll be ok as a team. If you give us 250k for Caldwell I'll be happy. |

I don't rate caldwell either. When we played against you lot recently I thought he was the worst player in a Hibs shirt.
Constantly giving away stupid fouls, arguing with the ref and he seemed to have some sort of inflated self-importance over the other players on the park.
I think Hibs are well off without him. Cash in now before Celtic change their mind.
I was actually reading recently that Hibs have performed far better defensively and conceded far fewer goals when Caldwell hasn't played. _________________ "Every single person on this planet is unique. Just like everyone else..." - Random Guy in Edinburgh Pub

According to the stats from a few games ago the Smith/Hogg partnership seems to perform the best - although still not great. Caldwell is captain and on good wages though, so I suppose he has to be played. Hogg didn't cover himself in glory either today and I would hope we can get another couple of centre halfs that could go in ahead of him in the squad. We have a couple on trial at the moment... |

Ha . Rudge doesn't seem to have been given much of a chance. The only time I've seen much of him is in the last derby and he had a really good game. He seems to be on his way out though... I can only assume Mowbray will be bringing folk in who he thinks is better. |
