Commemorative Cairn

First Battle of Falkirk
1298

Under the auspices of the Society of Sir William Wallace, and with the assistance of many well-wishers and volunteers this Cairn has been erected in Callander Park, Falkirk. It commemorates the fallen who fought under the command of Sir William Wallace during Scotland’s First War of Independence and is also a monument to that Spirit of Freedom engendered, even the face of adversity, in the Scottish People by The Wallace and brought to fruition by The Bruce.

21st. July 2007

Parade
A Parade will take place through Falkirk to the Cairn Site
Assembly at 12 noon for 12.30 start
At the Old Parish Churchyard
(between Newmarket Street and the High Street)
Thereafter Parade will proceed to the Cairn, Callander Park.

Service of Dedication
At 1.15 pm. approx. at the Cairn
An Ecumenical Service of Dedication
will be held by the Scottish Knights Templar
Guests of Honour ; Ronnie Brown (of the Corries)

Evening Ceilidh
In the evening a ceilidh will be held, from 7.00 pm till late, in
The Cladhan Hotel, Kemper Avenue, Falkirk.
Bar available — Entertainment and Raffle — Tickets £10 each
