The bigotry thing, I understand its origins etc.. but I just don't get.
The Irish, whether north or south, and the Scots, highlander or lowlander are so similar in outlook on life, it is uncanny. This is a reflection of our shared culture (in many respects), more so I would argue than any other nation on the planet.
I have visited Ireland on a number of occasions and to me it feels familiar, it is very like Scotland in so many ways (and different in others of course). More so than England or Wales even. |
