I think he could have done, but he's obviously happy over there... I've known about him for years, thanks to friends who are very interested in racing. It's only recently that the "Scottish" press have acknowledged him.

I've heard one of the top ranked Thai boxers is also a Scot. But you hear of him so rarely that I canna mind his name. If he was called Lewis or Henman or Rooney, you'd never hear the end of it.

I was actually involved in kart racing a while back and have raced against some of Franchetti's family.

Think Paul Di Resta, from Bathgate, is related to Franchetti and he is making a name for himself in German Touring Cars (DTM). Never raced against him, but raced against his dad.
