Sorry about that - I should have read the first post properly. Hope you don't get so much trouble with your event as the one this weekend.

this is a downfall of free speech. it would be better for all if the idiots on this march were in jail, the people shouting abuse at them should be jailed. those attending orange walks should be jailed and those shouting abuse at orange walks should be jailed. to be affiliated to, in any way, to ANY groups on either side of their shitty crusades should be a criminal offence. they are the brain dead scum of the earth.

i'm not sure it is the best image to send on an independence forum having people promote this sort of rubbish. as a nation we are trying to get away from this crappy nonsense.

we are not the opposite side of the orange lodge. our marches are open to all regardless of religion we are a political organisation, please educate yourself on the facts before spouting such nonsense. as for brain dead i will be more than happy to compare educations with yourself, or argue any topic sensibly, try and see beyond your own bigorty. to describe a commemoration of mass murder by british troops of citizens it claims as its own is the real issue here.

What's the difference between a religious belief and a political belief?

The independence movement is open to all sorts. It seems pretty clear that while there is a link for some people between Irish republicanism and Scots republicanism, but that is just one of many facets to the movement. IMO even if you wanted to, it would be much worse to deny it exists.

As for the march itself, I've never been seen any of them, but I was under the impression that the event parkhead was attending was a much more commemorative and tolerant affair than last weeks Cairde na h-Eireann march which got all the press.

aventanian for me a religious belief is one that is framed around the moral teachings of an organised religion, a political belief is one which is framed around an individual situation whilst being influenced by a wider political ideology but i suppose thats a whole new theoretical debate.

my point in relation to his ill informed remarks was in contention of the fact that irish republicanism and even events which some like to associate with republicanism such as bloody sunday, for the record the event in question was not a republican march it was open to all who want to remember the events of that day and campaign for justice to finally be done, with catholicism and dismiss the troubles in ireland as just catholics and protestants knocking the s**t out of each other.

i said that i'am unhappy with all, from both sides of the divide, taking part in marches, demonstations, commerations etc. and that makes me a bigot, that is an illjudged comment. i would ban all parades and marches be them orange, republican, frinds of ireland, friends of ulster, ira/uvf, i do not care ban them all. not one person who attends these things is helping solve the problem, they merely add to it.

if you want to commerate bloody sunday, do it in ireland, why glasgow? these same 'friends of ireland' will be demostrating against orange walks whereever in the summer, and the stupid orangemen feel they have a right to annoy everyone.

ban the lot.NOW.

who called you a bigot? i think you imagined that part, it was in fact implied against me that i was a bigot.

as for the reasons why commemorate bloody sunday in glasgow well i will give you a startling fact. the army who murdered 14 unarmed civillians that day were in fact members of the british army, scotland is a part of britain. but asides from that do you question why there are stalls in glasgow city centre every week in support of palestine? do you ask them to go and set up there stalls there? injustices should be challenged all over the world.

this two sides debate also shows your total lack of knowledge regarding the situation in ireland, are you even aware that the british government are more culpable than anyone for the situation in ireland? or does that not suit your narrow understanding of the conflict so you prefer to see it as two sides of a religious divide.

the west of scotland band alliance are an organisation committed to campaigning for the unification of the whole of ireland as one sovereign unit. the orange order are a religious organisation committed to upholding protestant beliefs, why you see the two as opposite sides of the same coin i do not know.

'try and see by your own bigotry' thats where. why am i bigot for wanting rid of all secterian marches/parades/comemorations. these fools have blighted scotland for to long, they are all an embaressment and i'm afrain that includes you parkhead. people are sick of the idiots squealing on about ulster/NI/6/9 counties/the british/catholics/proddy's/ira/uvf. they are the most boring, cliched and vile bigots on earth. anyone who has any affiliation with these frankly dull 'causes' should all go and live there and leave the decent people to get on with our lives. WE ARE ALL SICK OF ALL OF YOU. and i'm the bigot?! good god.
