Ok, how much confidence do you have in your team! Do you think Scotland can go all the way or will the get knocked out at the group stages?

Very Happy

They'll get out of the group, and probably be no 2 in it. Quarter finals again. Unlike football where we either don't qualify or get knocked out at the group stage.

There's a big difference in the level of competition between football and rugby. I would say that it will be more of a success for the Scottish football team to qualify for the European Championships than for the rugby team to get to the 1/4 final.

Trouble is that we can't even get out of the pool stages in our "national sport" most of the time.

Football has a tendency to smother all the other sports including rugby, shinty and golf.

I don't think you can compare the success of the football team with the national team in other sports. Football is so much more competative than rugby etc.

Football is also more highly promoted than anything else. And more sectarian.

Football is no more competitive than rugby. In fact, it has fewer rules, and more money pumped into it.

I think thats the problem Radge, as an outsider to rugby i find the rules put me off because half the time i dont know whats going on.

Football is a lot more user friendly and i think that is a factor in its success

Well, sectarian bigotry doesn't exactly make me warm to football.

"Football is a lot more user friendly"

No, just more hyped. And over funded.

Apart from the fact that football smothers all the other sports, not everyone's good at it! Schools shouldn't just offer football, but lots of different sports.

Well Scotland got through to the quaters tonight. It wasn't pretty but we'll take it.

Possibility of facing Argentina in the next round. Could make the semis Very Happy

I see the Welsh coach has paid the ultimate price for their performance.

Don't know what chance Scotland have got of beating Argentina, but surely it is better than facing some of the other quarter finalists.

On the right day Scotland have a good chance of beeting the Argentinians - and the game will be in Cardiff. Argentina are a very difficult team to beat but anything is possible at this stage.

One thing is Jankins being sacked from Wales, doin't hold my breath that we'll see an instant change though. Things seem far deeper rooted than that.
