Hello, I am new to this group and would like to ask some questions of the members of this forum. I live near Seattle, Washington and I am doing research for a future non-fiction book about how the world, especially western countries, view Americans and the culture of the United States. I am looking for candid views from non-Americans living outside the United States and individuals can decide whether or not they choose to give their name - I ask only for age, whether the person is male/female and their country of origin (and city name if comfortable).

If anyone is interested in expressing their views on this subject I would ask them to respond to my email address directly rather than to the forum in order to respect the feelings of others. I welcome both brief answers to available sample questions or more lengthy commentary. Please let me know if you are interested in participating and I will reply with another email explaining more specifically what I am looking for. I would welcome any input available.

1.What would you like Americans to know about your country and culture?

2.What lesson could Americans learn from your country?

5.Have you ever visited the United States and if so did you feel as though you were welcomed?

6.When Americans visit your country what type of impressions do they leave you with - any first hand accounts would be great. If visitors do not leave favorable impressions, what bothers you most?

7.What advice do you have for Americans visiting your country on holiday? What should they do or not do when visiting?

8.What do people in your town/city dislike most about American visitors?
