The Democrats and So-Called Republicans are one in the same and merely two heads of the same monster, to quote George Wallace there isn't a "dime of difference between the two".
If you are sick of the status quo and would like to see the nation returned to the Revolutionary Ideals it was founded upon then please consider joining with us in the JRP. We remain libertarian to the extreme and revolutionary as the day is long. We do not tolerate charlatans and politicians who feed from the public trough while giving nothing in return. Down with tyranny and long live The Republic!

History of the JRP

James Madison started the party among Congressmen in Philadelphia (the national capital); then he, Jefferson, and others reached out to include state and local leaders around the country, especially New York and the South. The precise date of founding is disputed, but 1792 is a reasonable estimate; some time in the early 1790s is certain. The new party set up newspapers that made withering critiques of Hamiltonianism, extolled the yeomen farmer, argued for strict construction of the Constitution, supported neutral relations with European powers, and called for stronger state governments than the (wrongly named) Federalist Party was proposing.

In the aftermath of the disputed 1824 election, the separate factions took on many characteristics of parties in their own right. Adams' supporters, in league with Clay, favored modernization, banks, industrial development, and federal spending for roads and other internal improvements, which the Old Republicans and the Jackson men usually opposed.

The party lay dormant and fragmented from 1824 until 2006 when it rose from it's own ashes to reassert itself on the political scene.

Jefferson Republican Party Today

The Jefferson Republican Party believes that here in America the time is long overdue for a truly representative party in which the candidate's interests lie in the interests of their constituents. The Jefferson Republican Party is being formed for that very purpose: to provide the people and candidates, particularly focused at the local level, to field candidates who desire a conservative approach to American politics without having to adhere to the mainstream rhetoric of either the Democrat or Republican Parties who's interests lie in in their party's success rather than the support of the Constitution and the defense of Liberty.

Like-minded individuals across America are coming together to form this party based on the words Thomas Jefferson issued in a statement in January of 1799. Although political parties of the time did not issue official platforms Jefferson's words were reprinted and circulated and were the basis of the party then and will be the premise of the party platform for today. Click here to read Jefferson's statement in full:

It is our hope for the future that this old "Party of Jefferson and Madison" sometimes referred to as the "Democratic Republican Party" and in particular the ideals for which this party was founded on, will experience a resurgence and renewal in the modern American political arena, giving so many of us who see the many problems with the status quo a fresh, new alternative, one that with the action of a grass-roots movement of the people can help to once again secure liberties originally outlined in the Constitution to be those reserved exclusively to the people.

If you are angered and irate at the path this nation has taken, if you are disturbed by the continual neglect our supposed "Representatives" render to us their constituents who put them in office, and are generally disgusted at the moral decline our country has fallen to, we ask you to get pro-active and join a Jefferson Republican Party of your State, if there has not been one established in your State get active with fellow conservatives in your State and start one. The basis of this new party will not be National control, but one that is focused on the standards of a federation of individual State parties united in one common cause, thereby emphasizing the vary nature of a Federal Republic that we seek to return to through the actual function of our party. We may lead by example and be stronger for it.

Visit the "Contact" page and submit your information, new things are happening and we need you to take the next step. Let's make a change.

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." -- Samuel Adams
