I have been looking at this forum for some months and wondering why we English cannot have an equally good forum. Anyway I hope you do not mind me joining you and posting with the viewpoint of an English nationalist.
I am standing for the London Assembly on 1 May 2008 as the first ever candidate of the newly established Free England Party. It would be wonderful to start having English nationalists elected to office in England. The existing three main parties are in my opinion tired and corrupt.
For those who have not heard of the Free England Party, we have a civic definition of "Englishness". So, for example, anyone living legally in England would qualify as English for our purposes. We also are a very respectable party in other respects too.
I look foward to taking part in the forum.
Regards, Andrew Constantine
PS I have edited the above post since making it, to make it clear that I am a member of the Free England Party nowadays.

Welcome to the Forum, Andrew... and so you know, you're not the first English nationalist to come here, and hopefully you won't be the last either! _________________ (\_/)

Hi Andrew and welcome! I imagine your upcoming schedule (campaigning for London Assembly) will be busy. Hope you find enough time now to also be active on this forum! _________________ "Scotland alone remains the ragged trousered philanthropist of petroleum economies." |

Hi Andrew, welcome to the forums.
hope you can contribute positively here... _________________ "Every single person on this planet is unique. Just like everyone else..." - Random Guy in Edinburgh Pub
"There is British nationalism or Scottish nationalism. I prefer the civic nationalism of small nations that has been expressed through the independence of a dozen European nations of similar size to Scotland in the past 100 years. Thank you very much to those who posted such a warm welcome.
In my above first post, I referred to an English nationalist party (the EDs) which is in favour of the Union, and as I am an ardent campaigner for English Independence from you lot who live north of the Tweed, I have since parted company with the EDs.
There are one or two other reasons why I decided to quit (too much work and the pay and perks were dreadful), but they are of no interest to Scotland's finest, and I don't wish to whinge too much on a public forum.
So, hopefully now that I have more free time than I had planned for, I can add my groat's worth of wit and wisdom to "whither Scotland" etc.
In fact I am in Edinburgh next week for a few days and will have my usual fun reading the Scottish newpaper editions (because they have such a differant slant compared to their London edition) and asking the locals all manner of impertinant questions.
For example, I run a personal poll on Edinburgh's taxi drivers (who I find are invariably good humoured and good company - nothing to do with tips) and I find that only 1 in 5 have ever set foot in the Scottish Parliament but that 9 out of 10 wish to retain it. Vox populi for you. _________________ Campaigning for English Independence |

Welcome indeed Andrew. Good luck in your quest in aid of establishing the English Parliament and her eventual independence also.
You have many on this forum who wish you well in this. |
