This is "the place to raise any suggestions or complaints".
Okay, I am complaining that not only did Radge Jougal turn a whole thread into a personal attack on me, but, at the point when this thread was locked, some damaging comments about me remained unanswered.
Radge Jougal claimed to speak on behalf of "everyone". When I pointed out of course he couldn't speak on behalf of "everyone", he said "_you_ do, don't you?" - well, no, I don't. I've never made any such claim. In fact, I've always been well aware that my views on most things have nearly always been in a minority. There have even been times when I have found myself in a minority of one. This has never worried me much. I'm a natural optimist. The way I look at it, if I'm in a minority of one, and I manage to convince just one other person to see things my way, then that is a one hundred percent increase.
"Most of your views are ripped off other people" - look, if I do happen to have the same views as somebody else about something or other, that doesn't mean I have "stolen" their views! Anyway, at least if I'm supposed to have "ripped off somebody else's views", then I can't be in a minority of one on that particular matter.........
"but you never acknowledge that" - for once, and possibly only by accident, there is a certain amount of truth in something said by RJ. I acknowledge that, generally speaking, I don't bother with acknowledgements. I don't see the point in them. For instance, if I say "society is divided into rich and poor, this is unfair, and that leads to class struggle", then some folk might think I'm quoting Karl Marx. In actual fact other folk had said similar things long before Marx did, but that's beside the point; the point is, if I say something, then I am expressing MY opinion, regardless of who may or may not have said similar things before me. The only time I have ever bothered much with acknowledgements was in academic essays, where you are actually required to provide references; but when I sent a couple of fully-referenced essays to this forum, RJ moaned about THAT ! There's just no pleasing some folk........

Dave, you might want to consider the reason I attacked you, is because you have done it to so many other people in the past going back decades. Why don't you reflect on that?
Try supping some of your own medicine. It don't taste good. |

Radge Jougal wrote "Dave, you might want to consider the reason I attacked you”
Finally, Radge Jougal admits he DID attack me. His previous claim that it was “innocent” has been proved false.
“is because you have done it to so many other people in the past going back decades”
I have controversial views, for instance regarding “leaders” and “officials” and authority figures in general, some folk take them personally, but even if Radge Jougal’s claim was true, so what?
“Why don't you reflect on that?"
I reflected on the “grudge" explanation long ago, when you first started your personal attacks on me. Nevertheless, regardless of any grudge you may feel, the facts remain these:
(1) So far as discussion here on this forum is concerned, your attacks were completely unjustified.
(2) The effect of your unprovoked personal attacks has been to hijack important topics by making discussion on them virtually impossible.
(3) Whatever you may think of my "record", since I’m not a politician, nor a candidate for any kind of public office, never have been and never will be, nor am I an official of any political party or other political organisation, it is irrelevant. Your personal attacks are just a distraction from more important matters. |

Some of my remarks have been innocent. I asked you what you were doing for free speech and you took it as an insult.
"Your personal attacks are just a distraction from more important matters."
Like your personal statements.
You can dish it out. Don't call it unprovoked. Either you know what you're doing, or you're mildly psychopathic. |

Radge Jougal wrote “Some of my remarks have been innocent” - the specific remark which you claimed was “innocent” was "Are you doing your bit for 'free speech' super Dave" - and the inclusion of your "superdave" taunt made it clear the 'question' was far from innocent. While it can be acceptable to aim that sort of barbed question at politicians, or holders of public office, in the case of ordinary citizens, the appropriate response, PARTICULARY to somebody who hides their own activities, if any, under a false name, is "mind your own business".
I wrote "Your personal attacks are just a distraction from more important matters", to which RJ comes back with "Like your personal statements". But so far as Radge Jougal is concerned, any personal remarks I've made were RESPONSES to personal attacks on me by him. Therefore, the responsibility for personalising the discussion is entirely his. |

RJ wrote "This thread contains images of badger baiting involving flushing out with a dog".
That's about the name you chose for yourself, "Radge Jougal" meaning "Mad Dog". And yes, it's true that "baiting" has come from you. I don't go in for that sort of thing. However, the problem with your metaphor is that, in badger baiting, it's the dog that is out in the open, and the badger that is trying to stay hidden; whereas, in this case, it is myself that is out in the broad daylight under my own name, and you that tries desperately to hide. |

As azzurri has stated in another thread, keep this kind of bickering to private messages etc.
Everytime it descends into a slagging match, the thread is going to be locked. _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |
