I'm supposed to be staying in Liverpool with a lad I used to work with who's a Gers fan. Only £11 on the train to Manc from Liverpool, and only an hour to Liverpool from home for me. Can't be better, well unless they played it at the Racecourse in Wrecsam, but don't see that happening.

Superb run in Europe by the Gers this year. Think Walter Smith knows how to keep the heid and finish the job.

celebrating with all other deacnt bears with decent and pro-rangers singing.

Result speaks for itself. You don't win on performance alone Parkie, being a Tic fan you should know that better than any of us! Rangers never gave up and got success from it/

I calculate that they have played eight UEFA Cup matches, in which seven goals have been scored, six by Rangers.

Only two of these goals were scored in the four matches at Ibrox, both against Werder Bremen.

To be unbeaten and only have conceded one goal in eight European ties is remarkable.

It may not be pretty to watch but it sure is effective.

I'm not surprised Barry 'zzzzzzzz' Ferguson missed his penalty as it was the only ball he played forward all night.

Looking at the Gers support last night, I thought I was watching a 1980's English National Side playing Fiorentina for a minute!

The fabulous Rangers, 'Scottish' to the core, so proud of them (not)!

Fair dues to them for making it but it's so unattractive to watch this football.  i Know a ton of Gers fans will say ''who cares'' etc but the comic thing is this side are on the verge of becoming the greatest Rangers side of all time if they win all 4 cups, I don't think they will though.

the first match at ibrox would have got football stopped.  thats a horrendous way for any side to play football at home in europe.

Blimey those grapes must be sour. It's called making sure the game is won. You don't win games on performances alone. If playing a team involved defending it's called using your strengths, a part of football.

When Celtic set the world alight with their Arsenal style football I'll take my hat for them.....this hat may be on my head for a while.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Celtic gameplan under O'Neill for Balde to assault opponents, then for someone to lump the ball up to Larsson? Wink

Anyway, I admit it was awful for the neutral - even I nearly drifted of during the first leg - but to hold on as we did was great. That sort of commitment, effort and concentration is why we've got so far.

One last point... remember that the goalie saved Barry's penalty. How often does he even get near the target, let alone force a save? Laughing
