Hi,my name is Andrew and I live in Calgary Alberta Canada.
I found this board from a link on BBC Scottish soapbox.
I am 45 years old and have lived in Canada since 1972.

I am a Stone Mason with no post secondary education, but I believe that I can bring a unique perspective to some of these discussions.
You see,I was born in England with an English mother and a Glaswegian father.I was there for two weeks before moving home to our humble abode in Dennistoun. So,I have a Glasgow accent but it clearly states that I am English on my passport.OK?with me so far?We moved to Canada when I was twelve ,and living in Alberta with its oil and water supplies constantly being plundered by the Canadian federal government has many parrallells to scottish issues.
I have no political affiliation, I am a conservative around Socialists and a Socialist when speaking to conservatives
My lay interests include economics(keynes and smith)history and politics.
Living in such a vast country as Canada were almost everyone has the same accent regardless of economic status or social class it strikes me as regretable how parochial and easily stereotyped people in the UK can be simply because you know automatically where they are from and thier social stature.
Anyway, I look forward to contributing to this board wich seems to be rich in well educated and informed posters.
