Ye're baith wrang.
Ye can say "Happy New Year", and ye can say "A Guid New Year tae awbodie", but ye never, never, wish oniebody either of them before the stroke of midnight on Hogmanay. The richt thing tae say AFORE then is "hae a guid new year WHEN IT COMES".
Hae a guid new year when it comes......... |

Ah'm tryin tae get a grip, ken? Ah'm tryin tae tak haud o aa these defilers o tradition an get them tae adopt the approved Scotland86 greetins o the season. We canna hae Scots sayin "guid New Year", ye ken, thon wuid nivir dae. Fit wuid the warld come tae if fowk went aboot brakkin aa the traditions?
Haud on a wee minute... is "guid new year" nae mair traditional Scots than "happy new year"? Ochone ochone, Ah'm aa confused noo. Cuid somebdy help?
It's nae immaturity, it's satire.
