It's not green, it's brown!
what a waste of electric, turning the telly on to watch it!
Broon is a donkey of a man. God help us if he's ever PM.
He'll probably abolish the SFA as well, if his current actions are anything to go by.

.......anyone who hasn't seen it yet - oh dear!

Keeping alcohol duty low - only 4p on spirits and 1p on beer. The masses don't noticed being shafted if they are pissed all the time, do they Gordon?

The economy being kept alive just a little longer by increasing stamp duty threshold and other 'shared equity' property schemes.

This 'house of cards' economy won't hold forever Gordon. As long as it holds just until you get your arse out of no.11 though eh?

Salmond's response:
Quote:
However, Mr Salmond said: "Scotland was forgotten by a chancellor determined to boost his British credentials."

"He went out of his way to support the 2012 London Olympics and 2018 English World cup bid, but failed to back Glasgow for the 2014 Commonwealth games.

"This was a chancellor trying to micro-manage policy for England. Once again, most of the policy announcements will not apply to Scotland.

"At a time when Scottish oil is pumping £2,000 a head into Treasury coffers, this Budget left Scotland with financial scraps, with the transfer to the Scottish Executive worth just £15 a head."

The SNP did welcome Mr Brown's decision to freeze whisky duty.

Interesting to see that the key budget announcement on increased funding for schools will not be matched in Scotland despite pressure from Westminster.

Scottish schools won't get Budget boost as Holyrood follows its own course
PETER MACMAHON AND JAMES KIRKUP

THE Scottish Executive last night angrily rejected pressure from the UK government for ministers to follow Gordon Brown's Budget promise to raise spending on state schools to the levels in private education.

Alistair Darling, the Scottish Secretary, yesterday dropped a heavy hint that Westminster expected the Executive to take its lead from the Chancellor, who made the state school spending pledge a cornerstone of his tenth Budget.

However, The Scotsman understands both Labour and Liberal Democrat ministers in the coalition are agreed they will reject pressure from Mr Brown and Mr Darling to fall in with the new initiative. One source said ministers were "fed up" being told what to do by Westminster.

It's hilarious hearing stuff like this in the papers. The Scottish Parliament is definitely growing up, and at the moment it's at the 'bratty teenager' stage.
