I agree on McGregor, his lifetime ban is too much for a player so young, but the Boyd situation is entirely one way and inlcudes more than Burley. Boyd insults his felow players by insisting that he is better than them and should be selected, something he doesnt do when left out at Rangers. he also insults the tartan army who would give anything to play for Scotland, including sitting on the bench when asked. That will be a bigger barrier to Boyd coming back than any manager.

McGrogor is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. If I was a striker, I'd love to play against him. He's not brave enough to be considered a world class keeper. Given his 2 recent performances for Scotland, I'd rather have Marshall as backup to Gordon. _________________ "Gordon Brown mistook a glut of cheap money and a global bull market for his own administrative genius. I agree with Rinty, and Azzuri.
McGregor should have his ban resinned. They should have just banned him for the rest of the campaign or something, he is still 26 years old, and in goalkeeping that is very young.
Gordon is still our Number 1, but I believe everyone is entitled for a second chance. He made a mistake, so did half of the team, if the Press are to be believed who were drinking that night. Give him a chance to redeem himself.
I don't think he's a Great Keeper either. He's dodgy on crosses, and arguably at blame for Holland's vital second Goal, not dealing with the cross. |

In my opinion, Burley shoulod approcah Barry Ferguson and ask him to help. If Ferguson agreed to retire from international football, the ban could be lifted.
Boyd is a different matter, most of the players will find it difficult for him to come back, there is nothing worse in a team than a player who thinks he is better than everyone else and greets when he isnt picked. |

Its not matter a matter of how good MacGregor is/isnt. Its the principle of the ban being a lifetime ban. To Ferguson this amounts to no more than the couple of years he has left at the top level, to MacGregor it could be 15 years as keepers go on longer in the game.
Personally I think that Gordon is better than the other keepers by a margin, MacGregor is next best, and Marhsall is on a par with several other 'good' but not 'great' keepers such as Combe, Turner, Alexander and others.
