After leaving Sheriffmuir on Saturday, our friend Jacobiker went to visit Stirling castle but he and his fiance were refused admission because he was wearing a belted plaid and carrying a standard.
Great days when a Scot can't enter a Scottish castle because he is wearing Scottish dress and carrying an old Scottish flag.

| Ridiculous situation. Whoever runs Stirling castle (is it Historic Scotland?) should be ashamed of themselves. Is the whole point of them not meant to be to protect and promote our heritage? |

Complaint galore have gone in Darkside but as usual, Histerical Scotland are changing their side of the story and now blaming his standard for their refusal to admit him when he was actually told that permission had to be given to wear costumes. Costumes!!!! since when did a plaid become anything other that national dress.
Time I think, that these 'Scottish' cultural bodies were actually run by Scots who know their own history. _________________ I fear not hell, nor English strife,

What standard was it, out of curiosity? _________________ The resident pantomime villain.

I believe it was a Jacobite standard. He had just come down from the memorial service at Culloden. _________________ I fear not hell, nor English strife,
